Vascular plants that are important for protection are considered in this project as any species threatened with extinction due to a sudden rapid decline in its population or the loss of its critical habitat. This includes species included in various lists of protected species in relation to national and international legal instruments such as: The Regulation on the Proclamation and Protection of Strictly Protected and Protected Species of Wild Plants, Animals, and Fungi; Decree on the Control of Use and Trade in Wild Flora and Fauna; Regulation on Cross-border Traffic and Trade of Protected Species; Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora; Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats, Habitat Directive on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora.
